Meet the first speaker of the of the School for Critical Thinking and Writing – Pikëpamja
Dafina Halili
Dafina Halili is a journalist at Kosovo 2.0, who mainly covers social justice and human rights issues, with a focus on women’s rights, LGBTQ+ and minority communities. Dafina completed her master’s studies in Diversity and the Media at the University of Westminster in London, United Kingdom.
School for Critical Thinking and Writing – Pikëpamja comes as a need to provide an advanced program for young men and women who want to benefit from deeper skills in dealing with various issues through writing. Unlike the basic module, Pikëpamja school, among other things, offers opportunities for developing knowledge for analyzing data collected for the research project, identifying the research problem, interviewing techniques and strategies, developing knowledge for citation and compilation of the list of references, development of knowledge about argumentation and counterargumentation, etc. During the five days of the school, participants will also be provided with advanced content on active citizenship, youth development and empowerment, and social issues.

Lura Limani
Lura Limani is a writer, editor and researcher from Prishtina. She is one of the founders of the independent literary zine and publishing house Lirindja and former editor-in-chief of Prishtina Insight. Her essays and journalistic works have been published in Prishtina Insight, Balkan Insight, Osservatorie Balcani i Caucaso, etc. Limani is one of the founders of the Oral History Initiative, a living archive of the life stories of a woman from Kosovo. Limani is the co-author of “BOOM” (2020), a publication that documents the Kosovo pop and rock music scene in the 1980s and currently works as a program staff at the Kosovo Foundation for Open Society (KFOS).

Erblin Hoxha
Erblin Hoxha – in the last 8 years has worked with projects for civil society organizations such as Lëvizja FOL, BIRN, Debate Center, CDF, Venture UP, Save the Children, etc. He has experience in the design and implementation of projects, strategic planning with a focus on education as well as in training and workshops for capacity development in the field of soft skills, youth leadership and activism. He completed his master’s studies in International Political Economy at the University of Texas in Dallas, while he completed his bachelor’s studies in Political Science at the University of Pristina. He currently works as the executive director of the Debate Center – an organization specialized in critical thinking and public speaking curricula, and also works as a project coordinator in the FOL Movement.

Durim Abdullahu
Durim Abdullahu (1990) is a historian and journalist. Assistant in the Department of Anthropology and History at the University of Pristina. Lecturer of university courses in the fields of medieval studies, media anthropology and art history. Doctoral student in the medieval history of the Western Balkans. His academic texts are about the relationship between myth and history, the application of hermeneutics and semiotics to medieval texts, travelogues as historical and ethnographic sources as well as the language of narratives about the war in Kosovo. He has co-authored four books: on history textbooks in Kosovo (Göttingen 2018), the history of the University of Pristina (Prishtina, 2020), “Anthropological Kosovo” (Tirana, 2020) and on the history of the Faculty of Philosophy (Prishtina, 2021). Durim Abdullahu worked for six years as a journalist and author of shows at KTV (Kohavision), where he produced over 50 television documentaries and directed the show CODEX. He is now a journalist at Radio Free Europe.
