Things I had to leave behind
My old toys and my old clothes
the old roads of my small town
filled with dust, filled with hopes.
Notebooks filled with dreams,
head full of schemes.
Friendships meant to last forever
but, crumbled when faced with reality.
I dreamt of being, outside those walls
but didn’t realize how safe I was, inside.
Once I left, I got the chance
to explore a whole world new,
to do what I always wanted to do.
When that opportunity finally came
I gave it no though, I was gone in a day.
But when I arrived, I cried and I cried
for all of those things
I had to leave behind…
