Pikëpamja Institute

Pikëpamja Institute is an organization that has journeyed for more than 4 years as a project of Shtatëmbëdhjetë, while since 2023 it operates as an independent entity in Kosovo.

Pikëpamja aims to provide practices that encourage and empower young girls and boys to be involved in decision-making processes in their community. This is to be achieved by providing a platform through which issues related to their needs and concerns are addressed, giving priority to young men and women and marginalized groups in our society. All this will be achieved through a series of talks with activists, a program of animated films in collaboration with Anibar, poetry nights and workshops of the basic module and the advanced module. The latter is implemented in the format of the School for Critical Thinking and Writing.

The basic module workshop is designed for students aged 15-18 and, among other things, offers opportunities for developing knowledge about the four main agents of socialization, developing knowledge about argumentative writing and developing knowledge about storytelling, and others. During the three days of the workshop, participants are also empowered to address their needs and concerns, pushing them to become agents of positive change in the country and space where they live.

School for Critical Thinking and Writing – Pikëpamja comes as a need to provide an advanced program for young men and women who want to benefit from deeper skills in dealing with various issues through writing. The school within the Pikëpamja is designed for students aged 19-24 and, among other things, offers opportunities for developing knowledge for analyzing data collected for the research project, identifying the research problem, interviewing techniques and strategies, development of knowledge of citation and reference list compilation, development of knowledge of argumentation and counterargumentation, etc. During the five days of the school, participants will also be provided with advanced content on active citizenship, youth development and empowerment, and social issues.

In addition to the workshops and the school, Pikëpamja through open calls offers opportunities for everyone to submit poems for publication. As well as mentoring during the writing process, and each article is accompanied by a special blog post illustration. At the end of each calendar year, a summary is published in the form of a booklet with all the articles published on the blog during the corresponding year.
